Firstwave Releases Netgain Sales 3.0; Netgain Internet Business Center and Robust Customization Tools Differentiate this Leading Web-based CRM Offering
ATLANTA, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Firstwave Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSTW - news) announced today they are now shipping to all customers Netgain(TM) Sales 3.0, the latest version of the first, completely Internet- based customer relationship management (CRM) system. Highlights of the new release include the Netgain Internet Business Center(TM) (IBC), new customization tools, the ability to automatically upgrade customizations to subsequent releases, and integration with Microsoft® Outlook. Netgain Sales is a component of Netgain Enterprise, a suite of applications which provides Internet-based CRM capabilities that enable companies to leverage the power of the Internet to understand and meet the needs of customers and prospects.

''With the addition of Netgain IBC, Netgain's integration with Outlook and our ability to roll forward customizations, Firstwave is continuing to execute its vision of providing a complete, web-centric CRM solution for extended enterprises,'' said Richard Brock, President and CEO of Firstwave. ''We provide a cost efficient solution for companies looking for an intuitive, easy-to-use CRM system that can be quickly implemented.''

''In NIIT's role as a major systems integrator, we have had the opportunity to work with most of the major CRM packages,'' said Lalit Dhingra, Sr. Vice President of NIIT. ''We believe that the Netgain 3.0 customization tools will put Firstwave ahead of the market in the ease-of-use category.''

Utilizing a portal technology that creates intelligent, context-sensitive Internet queries, Netgain IBC provides users a more efficient sales process by making on-line, customized information instantly available for prospecting, lead generation, research, travel planning and logistics. Netgain IBC provides a direct link to the Internet from a user's Netgain desktop and utilizes prospect, customer and industry data to automatically establish search criteria through a user's Netgain database.

Users can customize Netgain IBC through the integration of external content sources, internal content and linking to business and trading partners. Pre-defined links are incorporated into Netgain IBC through Firstwave resource partnerships with Harris InfoSource (business profiles), Vicinity Corporation (location services) and Weather Underground (weather conditions). An additional integrated link is NewsSt@nd, a marketing encyclopedia system.

Netgain View Designer and Netgain Business Object Architect are newly developed customization tools that allow customers to personalize the look and configuration of Netgain. Netgain View Designer allows a customer to configure and customize Netgain views, then deploy these changes to end users using the existing Netgain Administration capabilities. Netgain Business Object allows for the configuration of Netgain Business Objects, such as adding custom Fields, Filters, and Sorts as well as tailoring Search Fields.

An innovative feature of Netgain Sales 3.0 is the ability to store customizations and roll them forward. Through Netgain's meta-data architecture, customizations are isolated, stored and maintained. When a customer upgrades to a new version of Netgain, the existing customizations are applied seamlessly.

Netgain leverages Outlook as the tool for managing and displaying time allocation. From Outlook, Netgain users are able to set Appointments and Tasks for themselves, as well as invite other users to Appointments and assign Tasks to other users. All Tasks and Appointments related to Netgain records also appear in Netgain Sales as Activities.

Netgain Sales improves the effectiveness of a company's sales and relationship management initiatives by leveraging the power of the Internet to serve an extended enterprise comprised of field sales, marketing and customer service as well as indirect sales channels and business partners. Rapidly implemented as a company's CRM solution, Netgain's web-based installation and training allow for easy deployment, regardless of the user's location.

The browser-based interface allows for easy navigation as it closely mirrors the way users surf the web, enabling even the most inexperienced user to utilize Netgain. Offline capability allows a user to access and modify data records without connecting to the web, a benefit for a mobile user who does not always have Internet access.
