with VIA technologies
to sell its Cyrix PC
processor business for
an undisclosed amount
to the chipset supplier.

In a research note, Merrill Lynch analyst Joe Osha said he estimates the
deal is worth between $150 million to $175 million. Osha also said the
agreement doesn't have any direct effect on Intel (INTC: news, msgs), but
does create a new competitor for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD:
news, msgs).
