The most important thing I think I could tell you is DON'T ever manually re-enter data, all the time spent doing that would largely defeat the purpose buying a faster computer. I would rather experiment with copying- over files. (make sure not to erase anything on your old computer).

The way I have saved my bookmarks in Netscape 4.x in a Windows environment was to find the file named 'Bookmark' in the same directory as your profile, then copy it into your new setup by replacing the default bookmarks file with your old copy. You can transfer it over with a floppy disk if these files are not too big.

It should be much the same process for other types of files.

One time, when I had several megabytes of data to copy, I installed my old hard- drive directly into my new computer then did a DOS command to global copy *.* onto my new hard drive in one of its partitions. Upon completion, I then put it all back together. Could have been easier if I owned a Zip drive.
