Shame shame shame on Airtouch. I called the 1-877-SATPHONE number for information and to sign up for the "First Call" club. They will tell you first when service is available(wow). Anyway, the woman on the phone said service would be available "end of year", to which I responded "HUH???" She said, "Yes, November or December." News to me. It is bad if true, and worse if your marketing people are uninformed. Phones will cost approximately $1500, she went on. My mind said BULLSHIT--we need a pre-emptive strike on that crap. Drop the price now. You can get Iridium phones for that price. Service will cost $1-2 per minute, including long distance, anywhere in North America. BULLSHIT again. Iridium is less than this in some cases. Long distance is nothing now. Prices have to smoke Iridium's, not exceed them. Don't give me any quality song and dance either. It won't cut it. If this is what the story is going to be, I will sell my watered down G* bet(LOR) right now!
