No, OLEDs are based on organic light emitters. I don't have any links handy, but a search engine will give you a lot of hits. Planar (for instance) is working on one. I have seen the souped-up monochrome display and it is very impressive.

The problem with plasma technology is the vacuum and the voltages. OLEDs act a lot like regular LEDs -- the problem with them is lifetime. However, one of the Japanese car companies is going to use an OLED display for a stereo. If this works out, the technology will officially be out of the laboratory and into the marketplace.
