I have @Home in the DC area. It works great here. I have never experienced an outage in the four months I have subscribed and never really notice it slowing down. Can always get free installation specials (they connect you within 2-3 days around here). Using the speed test at this site(http://www.computingcentral.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest500.asp) I usually get at least 2.5 Mbps speed.

But, keep in mind that the service quality and performance issue is closer aligned with the local cable operator and not @Home. CATV operators selling @Home deploy all sorts of different transmission technologies for data delivery. Plus, the amount of fiber versus coaxial cable vary. Some just have a fiber backbone, some have deployed fiber throughout the neighborhoods, and others have very little (if any) fiber. In addition, the quality of service, and local expertise, vary widely.

In my market, the support is pretty good and the local plant was recently upgraded to fiber. But, a neighboring jurisdiction is about 5 years behind in fiber deployment and have crappy service and support.

Which market are you trying to get @Home in? Definitely look at the @Home satisfaction with your local CATV company.
