Another Speculation

Instead of an outright acquisition by Wind or Wind acquiring another company, how about partial ownership - like Liberate! being owned by a consortium of companies including ORCL, INTC, WIND, AOL? Such relationships can be very beneficial to WIND - it will ensure that WIND's products are being used.

Wind can also be partially owned itself by a handful of prominent players. Would say Intel not like to own a piece of WIND? Future chips are increasingly likely to have operating systems and software embedded. If Intel contracts with Wind to provide the OS, would they not like to have some control on cost, production and quality via some ownership? We are likely to see an increasing number of such partnerships. This could also be an effective way to fight MSFT's monopoly. Wind of course benefits by having a ready-made customer.

Any thoughts, views on this angle?
