Doug/Vince - GTE I had DSL installed through GTE on June 11. The connection is awesome. $55/month for 384k upstream/downstream. As low as $35/month for 256K connection. The bad news is....it was a special which expired today! gte.com The guy who came to hook me up said he lives in San Diego and has cable connection through Cox Communications/At Home. He HATES IT. Says that since it is shared access with the rest of the neighborhood, weekends and evenings the speed declines significantly. He said he would change to DSL just as soon as his contract is up. BTW, I had to wait two months to get hooked up due to "equipment shortages" and the unanticipated HUGE response to their dsl launch. They use Fujitsu/Orckit modems. Sales should be great. Anybody ever look into Orckit? Israeli tech firm. Looks like an undiscovered DSL play.
