Hi MNI - you wrote:

EXCUSE ME:
Have you ever been to the Netherlands, or the Dutch Antilles (Bonaire, Aruba, Curacao)? Do NOT tell them you are Amerikaners, when they "let their hair down" there is NOTHING nice nor good they have to say about AMERIKANERS. I do not know what part of Europe you care to discuss, but I have passed myself off as greek/canadian (my dad was born in Toronto) when traveling on occasion and have found that antiamericanism is a passtime of "foreigners" and are just waiting to discuss their disdain for americanisms. By the way, do NOT tell the Parisians their paternity and maternity heirarchy does not matter.
As far as racism in the United States, YES, there is plenty of it and it is wrong - do you suggest that some other power in the world come to the US and bomb us into submission to some other predefined "rule" of 'coexistence' - rather like what clintonista did with Kosovo?
I think clintonista is doing more harm to the infrastructure in this country with his regime's fascist plans and laws he has implemented and signed that have exacerbated extremists in all walks of society and have unified the hate mongers on all sides resulting in a pretty wicked forecast ahead.
I don't think you need concern yourself with what the united states is doing; you need to get a grip on what your true "close surroundings" are before trying to figure out what is going on "way over here". Start in France.
When I was in the service, USAF, and I was overseas, it was a much better environment to experience alot less racism; see Greece was a R&R spot for the boys coming home from NAM - we had alot of black soldiers coming through on tours of duty at the base. There was NO UNEASINESS buddy on foreign soil on the "soldier's side". As a matter of fact, I got "soul" during that time of my life and will never give it up.
People are people and there are no laws that will regulate the way people need to behave; you either "GOT IT" or you "DON'T"; tie yourself up in 'history' and clinging to 'biased, faulty recollections' gets you living in the past, not the present.
I just wanted to clarify your original statement that "geneology" in Europe is NOT so important - You are WRONG, a thin thread of "coexistence" among all your countrymen are holding it together. When you get your internal problems fixed up, maybe then I can listen to some of your recommendations to solve any american problems.
