I just discovered the little clause about no more than 20 posts in six hours.

That's a discretionary rule that we invoke only in certain situations. Our intention isn't really to limit participation.

That rule gets invoked when someone is exceeding the numbers while using the site excessively frivolously (posts containing only "Next" or "Click", for example) or is harassing a thread or person through sheer posting volume.

Many posters regularly exceed the numbers on a daily basis, and they're fine. They're sticking with appropriate topics for the site and not harassing anyone.

If someone is harassing a thread or person through sheer posting volume, it should be brought to our attention by giving us the link to their profile, the number of posts, and the timeframe. It should always be done quickly because after about 80 messages or so, we can't easily verify the number of messages.

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)

PS. I'm replying through the beta site and really like the new look and features!
