One thing to keep in mind....

Zenith will make money as long as they sell the Internet TV. They have positioned themselves to provide the TV with phone line, cable and wireless connection is that is where the market goes. If ASDL, Cable (Satellite - same thing), or Wireless is the technology than ZE will be ready.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Zenith has any idea of rolling over then it comes to modem or set-top box sales, that's their fastest growing market sector right now.

It's nice to know that you invested in a company that is not 100% dependent on ONE technology!

ISDN - to expensive for the performance benefit.

ASDL - not even testing in large quantities and you don't just plug a modem in as everyone thinks (there are major restrictions and upgrades required)

Satellite - There are restriction to line of site. If you can't see the southern hemisphere you can't get connection in the North America (including mountains, trees, buildings etc..) and you still need a phone jack for upload.

Cable Modems - requires cable company to activate either one-way with phone upload or two-way system upgrade. Need to select standard modem specs. and get the job done.

Wireless - I haven't done enough research and the magazine didn't discuss. I suspect interference and location limitations. Requires phone jack fr upload.

NOTE: Anytime you need a phone jack you are looking at additional money to complete the download - upload process. Must remain under the $40-50 range, who wants to spend $480+ per year to communicate?

Aloha
