A "jaw-dropping" comment from 3Com conference call: 100MB (Fast Ether) adapter card shipments grew 64 percent sequentially!

The 64% increase in one quarter absolutely has to translate into increased 100MB switch sales. Remember Intel's original Intent in cutting 10/100 MB adapter prices was to encourage exactly that--migration to 100MB Ethernet. This is apparently working better than even I expected.

3Com also commented on the migration to Fast Ethernet, and the relative strength of the switch market (esp. high end) as compared to the hub market, and of course the 100MB adapter market which saw huge increases in volume, but was the target of the Intel price cut.

The question is, can anyone take a stab at figuring out how this huge volume increase in 100MB adapters will translate into 100MB switch unit-volume increases? MRVC will be a prime beneficiary here...without paying the price 3Com has on the adapters and low-end hubs--as MRVC isn't weighed down with either of these.
