Am a new poster to this thread, I have always used FA to pick stocks and TA to decide on entry and exit points. I also watch the overall market and use TA, interest rate trends, inflation trends, etc. on this to try to keep from swimming upstream. I also watch the news and analysts up and downgrades as time permits, but there are only so many hours in the day. I have several posts on the Windows on Wallstreet Subject (#21, #69, #219 and #220). Post # 21, my first post on SI, made it onto somebody's great posts web page (Andy's I think?) and #69 was a follow up to it and #219 and #220 were from the past two days on somewhat short term predictions that have looked right SO FAR... That said, I would love to participate in your new thread idea and contribute what I may. Let us all know when and what it will be called. As far as picking stocks goes, I agree with a previous poster that somewhere in the $10 to $50 price range stocks would be better, although I think we might want to consider 3 stock picks. One large cap, one mid cap and one small cap. This might give us all a better feel for what works best for each type. Now which ones...hmmmm! That will be the hard part. Do we vote or throw darts? :-)
