Even if AMT was due, AMT due to ISO exercise creates a credit you can use in future years. It takes time but you get it back.

However, our ISO program specifically stated that the ISO exercise could not be done into a tax advantaged account. It's in the company documentation. I do not know it they are just being conservative or if our tax lawyer (shiver) has determined it to be illegal.

It would be a good move. Especially into a Roth, for those fortunate enough to have them!
