Hi Tony,
First I will preface my comments with "I don't follow the semi sector that closely". However, from the other side of the table I have seen the exact opposite of what you are saying about inventories being worked down to zero. What I have seen is that most manufacturers are stockpiling semiconductors as insurance to potential interruptions of availability due to Y2K issues. My sample set is not really statistically valid, but it certainly doesn't challenge my views of what to expect. Have you heard anything to this effect? or am I talking to a biased population?

Maybe you don't follow the semiconductor group, but they are embarking
on a three or four year boom, largely because inventories have been worked down to zero, and demand for chips from all quarters, including networkers, is exploding.
