W.B., RE: some of the large firms are buying today(naturally as saliciously as possible) are: First Boston-1.3 million-SCH-1.1. milllion-GS-1.4. million and ML-500000 The odds are about zero that those firms were buying for their own accounts. Most probably those firms were buying for customer accounts. And the odds are equally good that the main firms on the sell side today (e.g. MSCO, GSCO, et. al.) are selling for customers, also.
