They did a couple of "count the tumors on each side" in left and right handed people (who presumably hold the phone on the same side as the master hand) One showed a slight relationship, one didn't. So much for statistics. There is a real business out there for scare junk science - this kind of thing is always good for lots of research grants, even though as you point out there is no reason or real evidence. The public and media can't distinguish one kind of radiation from another, nor can they grasp the inverse square of the distance law. They panic over something as unlikely as distant power lines , but they go out and deliberately try to get a tan, exposing themselves to a for sure carcinogen. Go figure..
Re inflation- many would argue that we have inflation- it's just mostly confined to equity and housing markets.I guess this is a "good" inflation to most SI posters who own stocks and a house.
