Zolt, that's expensive real estate Hillary is looking over.

Imelda Rodham Clinton?

She's come a long way, baby.

A long way from those Arkansas days when she used to itemize her tax deductions right down to the last pair of her husband's used BVDs. (Back then, Bill Clinton's underwear wasn't considered evidence.)

But those days are long gone. Now it's time for Hillary Rodham to start livin' large. Imelda Marcos style, if you will. As in, eighteen pairs of Bruno Magli shoes on a single Euro shopping spree -- according to recent reports.

In fact, even Paris Match took notice when Imelda Rodham availed herself of the local finery during a pit stop en route to the Clintons' Kosovo victory party earlier this month. According to one English translation that popped over our cyber-transom Wednesday, Mrs. Clinton sounds like a regular chug-a-lug shop-a-holic:

"23,190 francs ($3500.00 U.S.) for Hillary's one-hour whirlwind Paris shopping spree. At the Italian shoe designer Tod's, Hillary bought the same leather sac, L'Bag, in the large and medium sizes for 4,900 and 4,400 francs each ($1408.00 U.S. total) and a pair of loafers for 1,490 francs ($225.00 U.S.). By the French designer Apostrophe, the blouse that she wore the same evening to the restaurant, L'Ami Louis, with Chirac and his wife, for 1,200 francs ($181.00 U.S.), a pantsuit for 5,000 francs ($757.00 U.S.), a silk scarf in khaki for 1,200 ($181.00 U.S.), a black coat for 3,900 francs ($590.00 U.S.), and a turquoise blouse for 1,100 francs ($166.00 U.S.)."

Not too shabby for someone who just parted with $850,000 to settle her hubby's sex harassment suit. Not to mention that $10 million in legal bills the Clintons are facing.

Then there's the new real estate Mrs. Clinton is reportedly looking over in her brand-new favorite state, New York. On Monday she skipped out on her mister's Broadway fund-raiser to examine a $3.8 million waterfront spread featuring 5 bedrooms and 6.5 baths -- in Westchester's tony North Salem.

No wonder Hillary & Co have us taxpayers picking up the tab for her frequent New York junkets. Some habits, like writing off old underwear, die hard.
