The Yamba Lake property was explored extensivly by Monopros (De Beers) about two years ago and the kimberlites there were found to be very small and have poor diamond grades. I saw the new dispersion trains for the property at the PDA conference and they all contain only olivine grains. If these rocks that are being discovered are true kimberlites then they should have some other indicator grains such as garnet or ilmenite assiciated with the olivine. I would suggest that this significantly down grades the diamond potential of the pipes.

There is no comparison between the Yamba Lake property to the Alberta play. They are both likely uneconomic (Yamba no size and Alberta no diamonds) but that is as far as it goes. There will be many more kimberlites found in the NWT this spring. Watch for the larger pipes, these are the ones that will pay in the end.

Don't get too excited until you see the diamond results.
