Hi DiB, Chax, re: Telstra

From the referenced article:

"Telstra will move all its services, including voice, onto the Internet, under a radical plan to phase out the current public telephone system within 10 years."

Anytime I see a release like that one [which borders on sensationalism] with the qualifier neatly tucked into its fabric stating "within 10 years...", I tend to want to roll it up and place in my pile of kindling, and move on to something more plausible, like harnessing the Suns rays as the next breakthrough medium for residential Internet access.

What does one have on their mind when they project that far into the future? It's one step above white noise, IMO.

I have been mulling over some background issues and a reply to this topic concerning Telstra having to do with their strategy and some of their NA affiliations, ever since the question was first presented to me yesterday, but It just isn't soup yet.

Later, Frank Coluccio
