Elizabeth, ot - cable I have had cable from cox for quite a while now. Though I got in on the last day of the beta test, which resulted in waiver of installation fee, I thought it was only something like $100 or $150 for installation, not much considering the difference in speed. As for the cable modem, you don't pay for it. It is basically a lease, included in the monthly fee. Ramsey
