Obviously, we're playing with fire, which is why (with a 10-day holding period restriction) I am not doing anything except thinking about when to begin scaling into puts. I was right last summer to ignore the VIX move into the 40s when many clients were talking about the high readings indicating a rally, and I think we'll see it into the mid to low teens before long. That's probably when I'll begin to enter some trades.
