I agree that they have little effect on moral reasoning, but as you may gather from the compendium I posted on the issue this morning, I think there is a value in treating certain cultural artifacts with particular respect. If they had no prior meaning to a significant number of students, they would have little value. Since they do mean something to them, posting them constitutes a broad exhortation to strive to be good, because human values are part of the cosmic order...
