Thank you, Robert

This is not my story, this is my analysis.

Trade barrier is never a problem when Japan Toyota will have another assembly plant built in Indiana. The import tax goes up and Toyota will have to built the cars here. The automation for manufacturing require design solutions. Designers have to be trained to make parts suitable for robotic assembly. Have you seen the TI calculator plant, the Cannon inkjet printer plant and the Apple computer plant. All fully automatic. How about bottling plants and cigarette production plants and canning factories. Training of personnel is required not to run the factories but to fix and maintain the factories. Even Ford is adding more automation to car assembly plant. The tyres are now roll down on conveyor type tracks for easy lifting onto the assembly.

On property protection, you have to start with constitution like ours in foreign countries. Did you know China close down stores because the foreign owner had published remarks critical on China? State dept. has to certify countries which has constitution and police that can protect US properties and US human rights before large investments can go forward.

Substantial export was done in the strangest way; Japanese auto plants over produced on models and engines in the USA, were all shipped back, exported to Japan. US "big three" will sell fleet cars to all foreign governments, this year. Of course, computers and semiconductors, we wrote the specifications and set the standards; we will export to our hearts' content. You need them, you buy them. Good old American way, demand side economy.
