Both SYSF and CYBR warned of slowing sales in the short-term...
CYBR because they had explosive revenues last quarter and couldn't
possibly do it each quarter and SYSF because they're realizing that
the integration of their product in an OEM organization is taking
longer than they expected.

I think that we'll see MSFT developing products that'll streamline
the technical support process (such as build data/voice products
and central software distribution products, etc.) before they work
on "picking up trash" like SYSF and CYBR do, but eventually
many of those problems will probably go away anyway. The BIOS
will resolve and report many of the problems with hardware, as will
the enhanced plug and play capabilities of USB, 1394, etc. along
with the "sealed box" approach. With tighter hardware integration,
mechanical problems (i.e. disk problems) will disappear even more
than they have.

Centralized software distribution and updating is certainly going to
cut down on the software problems, particularly if the management
and screening at the central point is done properly. If not, maybe
a whole new set of problems.

Some of these things are happening right now and others will take
a few years to evolve.
