john...re: "earnings growth matters"

couldn't agree more...but perhaps the market has decided dell ahead of itself insofar as share price....40% growth of the underlying company great...but with a high valued pe....should the market make a further adjustment to dell to bring more in line with the sector???? will the stock grow 40% per year or will the pe shrink to 40???? that is what must be decided by the market...today it is more the latter...

csco is where dell was....high value, due to belief it can grow into it...this is reality...this is how the market "perception" is....dell as someone posted is being held back because it is at the top of the sector...but the sector believe to be diminishing as far as margins...msd cannot defend a negative, and no reason to expand on the obvious....the market wants more then earnings growth from dell...they want to have a clear view of what dell is going to do for an encore...dell won the pc game...it basically stands alone and unchallenged...the defeated have moved on to a new game...dell not yet announced if it will play again...

believe what you may....but the proof is always in the share price...can be the greatest company in the world, but if stock price remains flat to downward, what does it do for the shareholders, be they long term or new positions....
