Red, Until we see the news release, we can only guess how much tonnage MRDI is willing to say is proven.....Note that the original drill spacing of 70 meter centres on the west peninsula was increased to 200 meter centres on this year's program to increase "drill proven" tonnage......we can safely assume that MRDI was comfortable doing this, based upon previous results which indicated a certain confidence in the variation in the thickness over a given distance, or the drill hole spacing this year would have been tighter than 200 meters.....did Winspear consult MRDI on increasing the drill hole spacing to 400 meter centres? I would think they would have. Much more has been learned about the nature and continuity of the thickness of the dyke, and that information was probably taken into consideration before deciding to increase drill hole centres to 400 meters on the north shore.....IMO, it appears that MRDI adjusts their parameters for "drill proven" as more geological and geotechnical data is gathered......the next news release updating drilling and tonnage may provide some insights as to what the parameters are at this point in time. For example, assuming that 200 meter centers are sufficient for classifying a resource as "drill proven", perhaps 400 meter centres are sufficient for classifying a resource as "drill indicated". It is also possible, after statistical analysis of all drill hole location and thickness data, and in the context of the geology, that 400 meter drill centres is now sufficient for classifying a resource as "drill proven", or perhaps that will be left at this time for the market to interpret:-) regards, teevee |
