McLEAN, Va. (Dow Jones)--Primus Telecommunications Group Inc. (PRTL) and Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) will collaborate to offer Internet and data services to customers.
In a press release Thursday, Primus Telecommunications said its new Internet unit, iPrimus.com, will provide voice, data and image communications deploying certain Cisco switches and series routers.
Primus Telecommunications, with 1998 revenue of $421.6 million, will also participate in the Cisco Powered Network program.
Shares of Primus Telecommunications last traded up 1 3/8, or 6.1%, at 23 7/8. Composite volume was 284,800 shares, compared with average volume of 448,007 shares.
Cisco Systems, with 1998 revenue of $8.46 billion, makes router, switching equipment and software for computer networks.
