<Chances are that AMD is actually sandbagging this one.>

Remember about a half year back when some OEM's speculated that AMD was sandbagging with the Q2 introduction date, that they could release the K7 in Q1 if they wanted to? And some people, even Jim McMannis, believed it? (I don't feel like digging up posts to confirm; I just remember.)

Q2 has come and gone, and the K7/Athlon is no where to be found, except in a vaporous announcement that was used as a sorry attempt to gloss over a $200 million loss. So instead of sandbagging, AMD would be slightly behind schedule if they didn't redefine their definition of "meeting schedules."

What makes you think that AMD is sandbagging this time?
