Do you always buy from the seller who wants the most for an identical product? Everyone wants to save money, quickest way to save. In the 70's and before the US had a technological advantage in industry that let her pay her workers more to make the same product and stay price competititive. That's in general and I know there were specific products that doesn't work with. Industrial technology has slowed in the US and productivity can't keep up with cheap wages.
