Yes, it is possible this boy had no prospects anyway so that they weren't taken away from him. I dare say his mother had plans other than to raise two more children; but her willingness or unwillingness clearly played little part in the decisions of her son or his adult sex partner.

But the rules can't say that it's okay for adults to have sex with children when they have no prospects anyway, but not when they are the high-parental-investment 14 year old Terrence and nihil refuse to address the case of.

And welfare isn't free.

I read somewhere recently that reliable paternity testing is going to change the situation in which young men get away with not supporting their children. That mothers will be required, before receiving welfare benefits, to name the father or possible fathers of her child, and dna tests will be used to find out which one gets his pay docked for the next 18 years.

This may have been a prediction rather than a description of current legislation.
