Tench,

I take anything on Tom Pabsts site with an extremely big grain of salt. He is anything but an unbiased reviewer.

Here is his latest attempt at FUD.

www5.tomshardware.com

He states:

Right now the price for RDRAM is rather scary. It's not quite clear if the RDRAM-price is for PC600, PC700 or PC800 RDRAM, but the source is a major memory-provider and thus reliable. RDRAM goes for about six times the price of PC133 or ten times the price of PC100.

If he is not willing to disclose his source then how do we know this is a reliable source?

Yes, Rambus will be priced higher than its predecessor, just like SDRAM was when it was first released. This is normal for any new technology when initially released. But it will not stay that way. Anyone who works in this industry knows this. To post this kind of FUD is totally irresponsible.

This is really very detrimental to his site. Whatever credibility he may have is lost by posting this kind material.

Regards,

Jim
