There have been a number of cases over the past years where
false Brinker "sell signals" have appeared on internet message
boards. In every case they have been 100% false.
Any investor who pays any attention to anything posted on
the internet but attributed to somebody else is speculating
that the poster is accurately stating the views of the party
being quoted.
Imagine selling out your portfolio because of a false post
by a prankster only to find out that Brinker continues to
recommend a fully invested position.
In that case, the prankster gets his jollies, while the investor
gets what he deserves. The internet is a pranksters delight.
