TC, others may be better qualified to speak than I but here's my take.

1- I would think you would have plenty of bandwith if you use PCI 32bit NIC's in each machine. With 100mb transfer rate bi-directionaly. If you have to use a 16bit ISA 10mb card in one machine then it would slow it considerably. You would use both machines simultaneously.

2- You would not set up an additional ISP account. Don't even have to notify them. The sygate program handles this. It will name the Server with your current IP address with a -1 (dash one) and your Client
machine with the identical IP address with a -2 (dash two).

If you have win98 on your Server you could add PCI Video cards with additional monitors to gather R/T charts etc; and still use the 2nd computer as we are discussing. Main thing is to crack case on machines and check for PCI slots. Am afraid the ISA 16bit w/10mb transfer may be disappointing.

Hope I'm not confusing you too much. Let's get a back up opinion from Sean, Spots or one of the other Experts.

Regards, /jw
