James: It is an entertaining thread - but, frankly, only when you are there ruffling their feathers! An ATM machine in my study? Give me a break - I can't work those things - they rank right up there with my VCR! I started "computing" with an HP67, graduated to the 41c and then to the Apple II+, all very user friendly machines <G> The Apple was fine (actually faster than the 8086 but with little in the way of software except for some games, AppleWorks and a ton of utilities from the "Beagle Brothers" -- went on to the "IBM" stuff because I needed a database - consequently the, also user friendly, dBase. Win95 (I'm not into 98 yet) does crash occasionally but usually only associated, for me, with Outlook. It seems pretty stable. I don't know what those folks on the Sun thread DO to their machines to get the number of crashes they complain about. Trying to run Windows from a dot prompt?
