Note the connections to FC and speeds. I haven't seen comparisons, but at first glance 2GB FC has advantages for the SAN. Some of these coalitions may attempt to leapfrog FC by having all the components read at once - but it is hard for me to believe it will happen soon or that they will be competitive on a cost basis. The article focuses on PCs, but I assume they will be working on ways to break in to the SAN market.
