Starowl,

In your research on I/O have you come across anything about the I/Os per second for these systems?

The JNI/Adaptec story was mentioned in this month's InfoStor in a panel entitled "JNI leverages Adaptec Technology". They discussed how they are based on Adaptec's Emerald III chip architecture and how their HBAs will be used in Sun SBUS platforms to replace the current Tachyon based HBAs.

They are shipping 32 and 64 bit 33MHz PCI to FC HBAs in volume and 2GB/s HBAs to developers.

Several manufacturers are working on or producing 64 bit/ 66Mhz PCI to FC adapters.

JNI seems like an interesting company to me with an increasing FC and HIPPI presence, but I haven't heard about an IPO.

George
