Huei-Sheng Kao,

Very cordial and professional response, but no clear answers. I actually would not expect an answer, since the direct comparison would have to be sufficiently rigorous to load the respective switches to their capacity. To my knowledge this has never been done and released to the public. Most tests seem to be geared toward interoperability and standards. Will the switch connect to and work with specific devices and protocols according to the standards? The exception was the CERN test of the Silkworm which basically illustrated the adapters and not the switch are the limiting factors in the environment. That test is now stored as a postscript file on the CERN site:

atddoc.cern.ch

The best bet at this point seems to be the U of Mn LCSE. If you look back in my recent posts you will find references to Thomas Ruwart's published experiments on FC AL Loops of various sizes and what the limitations of those systems are. The goal appears to be looking at the limitations of the switches in a maximum load scenario and hopefully it will be made public.

George
