Hey Chin, Your over there in TPE land if I'm not mistaken... do you know what is going on with the modem manufacturers in Taipei such as GVC and CIS? Also, what's up with UMC and their V.34 chips (made alot of hype when they started, bit haven't heard much since). Wisecom (CIS) markets directly to retailers like Frys and I saw some GVC stuff at CompUSA. These guys come in with very low buy in prices that buyers have a hard time resisting for the short term. This affects BOCI and DIMD on the shelf at places like Frys. Ohh Jeffrey, one more note... I was in Taipei at the GVC factory a couple of years back. When I walked into the clean room (Class 100, I think), I was not dressed in the proper clean room garb and they didn't seem to care. That is what you call a cheapie. Boca is an ISO 9002 certified organization. It is not easy to receive ISO certification at that level. You must use certain methodologies and the finished product must pass certain quality inspections.
