Three golazos for the USA (women) team, put them in the semifinals of the Women World Cup.... ~ vs ~ the Germans, no less...

Fresh off the bench, Shannon MacMillan sent that right-side corner to the near post where defender Joy Fawcett flicked home a header into the top right corner in the 66th minute, powering the United States to a 3-2 victory over Germany in a Women's World Cup quarterfinal before 54,462 at Jack Kent Cooke Stadium.

The U.S. advanced to play Brazil, a 4-3 overtime victory over Nigeria, in Sunday's semifinal at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, Calif.

And the Semifinals this July 4th.

soccertimes.com

USA vs Brazil

Norway vs China.

So to keep the tradition... (although we were late in recognizing this world cup... I have seen a few of the matches here and there...)

The USA has played very well... and their performance has been far superior than the men's a year ago...

I know, I know... the super-moron is to blame... <g>

Here are my predictions for the semis and finals:

USA 2 x 3 Brazil (of course)

Norway 3 x 1 China

Final

Brazil 2 x 1 Norway

3rd/4th.

USA 3 x 1 China.

__________

p.s. I hope your boy is doing fine.
