Well, I'll avoid the political analogies, but it does sound like your browser shows you something other than what the page is telling it to show you. If you're seeing all that red, it's not because Go2Net has designed it that way, but because your browser is overriding their design.

IE has an option under "Accessibility" on the options screen (follow Carolyn's directions to get there) that allows you to "Ignore colors specified on web pages". If that is checked, and if you have red specified on the "Colors" screen as your link color, then red will show up on any page regadless of the designer's intent. However, that option would also cut off colors like the olive and blue on the beta page and the orange on the Go2Net page.

Theirs is a blue-dominant design with virtually no red in sight.
