I think Waterhouse will let you do it. Just make sure that both contracts are opening contracts so that one doesn't cancel the other. I would have thought every broker would let you do that. But check with them. I was short on one leap call then I went long and let both short and long continue open for a long time. But I have never done it on a spread. BTW for a spread what kind of strategy would that be?
