Monitors...
Scrumpy's suggestion about the Appian can be followed up at
appiangraphics.com

Just read about another interesting tall-and-skinny monitor by NEC (MultiSync LCD 2010--weighs only 25 pounds, generates less heat and electricity than conventional 21-inch monitors, can be turned sideways to view vertically if desired. Price $4,999) Can even be mounted on the wall to save desktop real estate.

My spouse swears by NEC monitors and I must say that I have been less than impressed by the Trinitron that I got with my new Dell last Fall. My older Trinitron was much better in terms of clarity. Not that it matters for what I need, however.
