Smart,
Those of us who have spent years in the "office" greatly value trading at home, away from the flock. When I visited Trend Trader in Scottsdale a week ago, the majority trading there were, as you noted, fairly young. I gather they need the support of the crowd around them to assist in the development of their trading behavior (monkey see, monkey do?). Mark Seleznov, the broker-dealer admitted that he would be home, like me, trading his own account if he had a choice.
<scalping is the preserve of the young>
Take the lowest skill traders and throw them into a highly sophisticated trading strategy that, by some amazing coincidence, earns the greatest transaction fees for the broker. Not a recipe for success unless you're a broker or author. Or in Friedfertig's case, both the broker and author.
One reason I give Seleznov so much credit is he advocates trend following execution that keeps you in the market longer (but makes less $$$ for his brokerage). Definitely an exception to the rule.
