Sector-Greg's name-calling may be complimentary compared to some names we could be called. At any rate, my time to post has been limited so I will take advantage of this opportunity. While MRV's stock price merely doubled in the quarter just concluded, it would seem that the company made as much or more fundamental progress than any of the IPO's which have recently rocketed to such incredible heights. (RBAK and JNPR among the most astonishing) I won't try to priortize or quantify the following but a partial list of accomplishments is:
1. Beginning shipment of Accelerouter
2. Beginning shipment of GFS 3016
3. Beginning shipment of wireless fibredriver
4. Announcement of CWDM
5. Announcement of the Linux router and rest of Series 8000
6. Completion of new foundry?
7. Awards at InterOp and SuperCom
8. Perception that management is becoming more investor-friendly
9. Potential in China

There is much to look forward to in the 2nd half of the year. On the debit side we did not hear of a major alliance during the 2nd Q like we were led to believe last year. So much is still potential but when we see how the marketplace is willing to capitalize the potential of Juniper, it is easy to conclude that MRV is a better buy today at 13+ than it was a few months ago at 6+. It appears that the industry trend toward consolidation is accelerating and that we could become a beneficiary just from the possibility that Intel or Alcatel or Ericcson or Nortel or Lucent or Cisco or Siemens may want all or a piece of us. Sector, if this company is even half as good as we think it is then why is it valued so cheaply by the marketplace?

Best regards,

Mike
