Thanks for that comparison on the CIBCR. It appears that the CIBCR was a very good predictor of inflation in the 70's and early 80's, and only moderately accurate in the late 80's and early 90's, and hasn't worked well at all the last 5 or 6 years. There was a bubble in the CIBCR in 1994 that was never reflected in actual inflation. Do you know when the CIBCR was created? The performance makes me guess that it was created in the 80's using data from the 70's.
