Yes, has anyone else wondered how much has the overall demand for gold been reduced(for a short time only) through the sale of cheap thinly plated junk jewelry as "14K pure" when only the plating is "pure" and is not pure when it is anything less than 24K?
Funny thing is, this is only a short term manipulation. People don't buy junk twice. They each learn an expensive lesson once. The plating is actually LOST onto hands and drawers and clothing and ground in bits to small ever to be reclaimed. Then people replace that junk with items of real solid gold(perhaps a low K purity so as to wear well, but solid none the less).
