Plotting the VIX

The only web site I have been able to find that allows plotting the
VIX using the BB and RSI, etc. is bigcharts.com

You can change the parameters (indicators) around to get a long and
short perspective. Set the Stocastics to RSI and click on draw.

The extremes in the VIX will change from one period in time to another. I would imagine that is because EVERYTHING is factored into it. That is, last year it was Asia and Russia concerns and those companies that would be directly impacted by the down turn. Thus, the VIX reflected that and we got a reaction. Today, Asia and Russia has calmed down. Thus, the markets will reflect that in the VIX.

Interest rates and the Fed was/is the most recent VIX factor controlling the major headlines. Do you get a sense of what I'm trying to illustrate?
