Linden, If I may also comment. I also agree that all comments, both positive and negative should be aired on a stock chat board. After all it is the Company, and opinions of it, that are the subject of a particular board. But the problem is, if you go back and check these peoples posting record in general, you will find they do not stick with factual comments about the company. They attack companies and individuals by using rumor, (usually self placed or self interpreted) and innuendo.
I hold about the same amount of disdain toward "pumpers" as well, but it is a lot easier to scare an investor out of a stock then in it.
I admit that most of the microcaps are trash, but one must not make assumptions that all are just because the price goes up and consider it license to say whatever they want about any company or individual.
Personally I like short sellers in a stock. Believe me, Yahoo, EBAY and most Interent stocks trading in large markets wouldn't be a fifth of their existing prices if it were not for short sellers.
I have shorted a few stocks over the years, but usually have my butt handed to me for doing it. Ie, I shorted Compaq, after doing my homework and attending their 1998 annual meeting, at $29.5. The President all but came out and told the world that they would not even come close to analysts estimates for the next few years. So as each quarter passed and they missed the estimates the stock kept going up anyway. I covered at about $40, it went almost to $50, and now see where it is. (no I didn't re-short it)
