Joan, Great post. I agree with all of it but one part. And you LAWYERS out there, if you are reading my mail pay attention because we creating law and history here.
The part I did not agree with is "Once a message is published publicly, it's public." True in most cases but not true when it comes to Techride. Pat attention LAWYERS and SI as we all know that with law, INTENT often is what counts.
You Joan and SI know why this board was started. It was started because we were censored and harassed by AOL and SI offered us freedom to post without being harassed or censored. Since, Joan, Mooon, Sundanz, myself and many others were censored and harassed I was VERY careful when I started this tread (a thread you sew with, a tread is where you leave tracks).
LAWYERS pay attention if you are reading our mail. This board started as a place for INVITED people to talk. The board does not invite others and in fact (and I can prove this) most that post on this board are privately invited to the board or welcomed to the board. I have NO way of knowing if someone else reads what I or others write to EACH OTHER.
I do know, in my mind when I send a post to Joan, that is like a letter. Others may read it but, my INTENT is to talk to a friend on this new medium. Look at the top, it doesn't say from BLUE to the World, it says from BLUE to Joan. The board doesn't say hey PLEASE post here or read our mail, it says this is our new home (a group moved from one place to the other). Now we do welcome others to the board when they come but, we never knew they were out there until they say Howdy.
So as you can see from the way the board is set up and the way mail on SI is addressed, this post is from me to Joan. Unlike AOL's boards where you post to the World, SI and Raging Bull have one thing in common. The post are person to person.
So if AOL was to sue me for nothing tomorrow over my AOL posts, I'll say not so fast Buddy Boy, that was from me to my friend, I started this board to get away from you and now you come looking for trouble? Well you just found it, let's do some test law and while we are at it, let's get some black and white stuff out of the way, like AOL's censorship and harassment. I say black and white as it is in print even though AOL erased the board.
Question: If someone reads your mail and they say well you told BLUE that you still own AOL so I bough some and lost the money so that is your fault. And jury (except the OJ jury) would say "hey you read her mail and now you lost money? TS idiot." Same thing with this board or tread. If someone reads our mail to each other and then and gets hacked off, TS idiot, that's the price of snooping sometimes, if you look for trouble, you find it.
AOL censored and harassed many of us and to this day they try to control people (eg send an e-mail that can't be replied to). They better not come looking for trouble cause they will find it. Until steve lower case cleans up his ACT and AOL cleans up their ACT, I will state the FACTS. steve lower case and AOL SUCK because that IS a fact.

PS Joan , I think steve lower case and AOL suck, they censored and harassed many of us and on Independence Day the very thought of that REALLY pisses me off.
